Learning Curve runs several mentoring groups in the UK for experienced HR Professionals, Training, Management and OD Consultants. The groups provide a regular forum for peer support and mentoring from an experienced consultant. They are a safe space for people to explore issues about their current activity, their relationship to work and their career/business development.
Each group comprises a maximum of six people plus mentor and meets every three months. Participants are asked to commit to a minimum of four sessions. Sessions last for half a day and each member of the group has the opportunity to take a 'slot' of time during a session, but is under no pressure to do so. The mentor facilitates each slot, involving other members of the group as appropriate. The main aim of the groups is to raise critical self-awareness by supporting people to reflect on the choices they make at work. This might involve in-depth questioning, feedback or challenges to perceptions or assumptions.
